They say it's similar to when President Kennedy was assassinated, that you will always remember where you were when you heard the news.
I was at LifeTime Fitness finishing my workout and heading into the office when I first heard about the first plane crashing into one of the Twin Towers.
I can still remember the days that followed and seeing no planes in the sky, which was really freaking.
So where were you when you first heard the news????

That day still haunts me everyday. I was sitting at my desk and was half listening to my radio. I kept hearing something about the WTC...and then I asked my coworker, "did something happen to the WTC?". We turned on the TV and saw the horror as well as the second plane fly into the second tower.
That day changed me forever.
I was leaving the courtroom of my custody hearing the day before brain surgery. Will never forget.
I was in class at uni, and sent home. The public buses were INSANE, everyone trying to get out of the city. We all had to pile on and off everytime it stopped for someone to get out. SOMEHOW I ended up running into my boyfriend (now husband) on the bus I was on.
Yes, I remember it quite clearly. I was in graduate school at the time, and I was in a seminar on Robert Frost. Someone came into the conference room we were in and told us to turn on the tv. It was surreal interrupting our discussion of poetry to see the second plane crash into the tower. Gives me goosebumps to think of.
I was on vacation in South Carolina, getting ready to go to the beach for the day. I flipped on the radio, heard a speculative report about a plane crashing, and the news just got worse and worse.
I remember when JFK was killed, and RFK, and MLK - anyone who says the 60's were great wasn't there - but this was even worse I think, maybe more like Pearl Harbor.
I was at home getting ready for the kids' school carpool. They started complaining about something interrupting their TV show and that's when I saw what was happening. Then the phone calls started (my dad had worked in the World Trade Center's South Tower).
