Tuesday's Thoughts

Today's dreadmill was like an episode out of Seinfeld! Like most people, I always choose a machine that isn't right next to someone. It's just the social nature of runners, we know how far our sweat can go when we get started!

So there was one guy on a treadmill at one end and me on the other end.

All of a sudden my treadmill just stops! Cuts off, no power......WTF????

So I go to the one next to it and start running, belt slippage.........

I hate belt slippage, plus it dangerous!

Move to the next one, no power!

Okay, now I getting closer and closer to this guy and I'm beginning to worry....

I finally get a machine to actually power on and work, but of course it's right next to the lone running guy! In my mind I'm wondering if this guy thinks I'm trying to hit on him (George Canstanza).....

Do you have a favorite treadmill or are they all alike to you???

How do you handle the sweatastic T-shirt after a treadmill run? Do you change into a dry shirt to finish your workouts???

I so want to spit when I'm running indoors...............

Are you a Peeping Tom runner? Peeping over at the runner next to you????

Where the HELL is Spring??????????

I generally try to have a cushion of space around me at the gym - but the treadmills are usually just about full!

I always have to repress the urge to spit, blow a snot rocket, burp, fart, etc... this is why I prefer to run outside. TMI? :P

I try not to, but I'm always peeping at the pace of the people next to me. The treadmills at the gym face giant mirrors, so I'm also eyeballing all the people working out behind me.

i don't do the dreadmill, but i even try and give folks space on the bike trail.... and yes, i'd have to blow a snot rocket on the carpet... maybe that's just me.

I tried to be a peeping Tom runner today, but couldn't quite see the guy's screen without falling over myself. I do OK on the treadmill if I look at the numbers ticking by (oh.so.exciting), but if I even turn my head to the side, it's a risky undertaking

I definitely play favorites among the treadmills at the gym. One of them is crazy loud, so that's out. Two of them are separated from the others and it's weird.

"favorite treadmill" does not compute. I hate them all

no I have a favorite when I'm there using them. Don't we all? Yes I do tend to look and see how fast others are running, I'm sick remember.

All treadmills are not the same. I like mine at home but have used some in hotels that I hated but were better. I leave on my shirt for the full workout. Hey, I'm working out and I sweat - deal with it! I'd like to know where spring is as well - not in Michigan that's for sure!

Last winter I was running on a treadmill and my hand got a little too close to the rails and *SHOCK!*. I nearly got electrocuted and the machine shut down. Really!? Anyway, I powered it back up and started running again. Then five minutes later, *SHOCK!* Yep, it shut down again. By this time I'm worried about my heart and the electricity coursing through it. I try one more time only to get one third and final *SHOCK!*. Then I quit. :-)

hahaha. hopefully he saw all the issues you were having and doesn't think you were trying to hit on him.

marlene sounds like a man in that comment. let's assume her account got hacked.

i don't go to a gym anymore. i have a treadmill at home that i try not to use. sc has milder weather though obviously, so it's easier to avoid the tm.

I don't quite get the question about what to do with the t-shirt after the run to do the REST of the workout. Just not as hard core as you...there's just never a workout after the workout!
