Wednesday's Why???

I love shopping at Sam's Club so I can get more stuff than I ever need but today I was shocked.

Why would someone buy two (2) 40-pack of condoms?????

So you may not have as good a holiday as this gentleman but have a great Thanksgiving.

Eating Like Crap!!! Again.........

I am having issues with my nutrition, which isn't the first time. Since I have an elevated Cholesterol level (that sounds better than high), I can't eat the breakfast foods that I really have a craving for and love. So I'm relegated to cereal and other healthy stuff. This means that a lot of days I'm lacking from no breakfast and it only gets worse after that.

I need to get on track and start eating like an athlete.

I know that planning is one of the biggest problems that I have and it's probably something that doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out. I still can't understand how Adam ate that apple in the Garden of Eden, when he had cows and chickens running around?????

Another thing that I need to get my butt in gear is a rival! You know someone that is close to me in talent and pushes me to perform better. My last rival actually became one of my best training partners years ago. Oh the good ole days........

I wonder of I can put an ad on Craig's List, 'Wanted, one Running Rival'?????

DO any of you have any local rivals that you always see at a race and just can't seem to beat?

A little Boy's Christmas

A few weeks ago, I wrote about a local boy that wanted one last Christmas.

Sadly, Noah lost his battle with cancer and died Monday morning at his home. Noah Biorkman's family received more than one-million Christmas cards over the past couple months after friends started a campaign to make sure Noah had one last Christmas, November 6th.

Thanks for your many acts of kindness.

TNT Spring 2010 Team

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to introduce the TNT 2010 Southeast Michigan East-side team.

We had a gorgeous morning for the inaugural training run. Everyone had a great time and is looking forward to running in sub-zero temperatures and knee high snow drifts!

I love the variety of people that comes together for a great cause. Each beginning always makes me look back at the people that have entered my life an the tremendous effect they have had on me.

This is when I can say, '..I love you man'.

I have several alumni on the team, which makes my job that much easier since they can help in so many ways. These same alumni want to get faster, they know that they'll cross the finish line.

Can somebody say 'speed-work'?????????

I was able to get in some decent runs and now I'm off to the gym.

Boy, I'm glad to have my mojo back!

MoJo

Okay, it's not my Mojo but I found this mojo just lying around and decided to take it.

I know it doesn't look the best but it will do for now.

This mojo along with going to the TNT Kickoff last night just seemed to energize me! I hoping this carries over for a few more days or even weeks, we'll see.

It was amazing to see the excited faces and individuals getting ready to change their lives for the better.

I love the beginning of the season..

Go Team!

It's S.A.D.

I've seemed to have misplaced my exercise Mojo lately and I'm blaming it on Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).

This is the time of year when I drive to work in the dark and leave work in the dark. I need sunlight!

Does that make me an Anti-vampire????

I also think my new exercise environment at the local community center isn't motivating me as much. Being surrounded by a group of mature individuals doesn't get the spark in me going.

How do people do this on their own???????????

Stupid Legs

Okay, I am almost to the point of running! I've even thought of running in something other than sweats. But I have noticed that my body is not in sync from the long layoff:

Dear Legs,
I'm sending you this note to inform you that I have received complaints from the respiratory and cardiovascular systems about your recent activities.

We understand the enjoyment that you are encountering, since you can run without any discomfort. We would like you to remember that during your time away from running, the other systems were not performing at their peak. In fact, the respiratory system took a vacation.

We are also aware of your ability to run on consecutive days again. This is of some concern to the cardiovascular system, since it was only performing on a minimal basis during your injury.

If you continue to show no regard for the other areas of the body, we will be forced to send pain signals to your area.

Signed Mgmt

Check Before you Hash

If you're familiar with Hashing in your local area this video clip will put a smile on your face.

I guess Hashers should notify their local Emergency Officials prior to a Hash!

Wednesday's ??????

Okay, I'm working out in a Community Center that caters to the seniors during the day and I've noticed quite a few things about the elderly that I don't really want to know!!!! (like strolling in the nude in the locker room)......

So today question is,... at what age do we stop caring about what or how our under garments look like?????? One again, it's a community center!!!!!!

Granted, I'm not a Calvin Klein model but I still care how I look underneath my clothing.......

On a good note, I'm feeling better and I'm actually jogging in the neighborhood. I still refuse to wear running attire until I start running, so I'm wearing my sweatpants and hoodie. I probably look more like someone committing a crime than someone exercising....
