Three Things Thursday...........

1) Dean Karnazes is at it again. This time he is running across America with Regis and Kelly! Check it out: http://www.dadt.com/live/special/runacrossamerica/index.html

2) Does Dunkin Donuts sponsor a race in your are? They advertise running with Dunkin but they aren't a sponsor for any races in the Detroit area. I think it's a perfect fit. Can you think of another company that isn't obvious but would be a great race sponsor?

3) I'm trying pumpkin seeds after my runs, since I crave the salt! Potato chips have been counter productive in terms of losing weight. Now I have to know when to stop eating them, it's addictive..........

I got a kick out of the whole "America Runs on Dunkin" thing when I was in Boston (Dunkin Donuts EVERYWHERE) - that would be a great sponsor, especially with donuts at the finish line!

A think a triathalon series sponsored by the trio of Budweiser, Doritos, and La-Z-Boy sounds about right.

DD is missing out a good advertising strategy by not sponsoring races.

I have, however, seen Starbucks sponsor events or at least be present at the start with little sample coffees.

How about a donut race. I saw one in Runner's world. Something like this - run 3 miles eat a dozen donuts run 3 miles back. Don't puke. Great idea, huh?
