TGIF Bitches...............

I have a Facebook friend that loves to use this title every Friday and I can hear her saying it right now.

We're in the process of holding information meetings for Team in Training's summer season and I had an actual doctor sign up for the team. (I sometimes play a doctor on the weekend. TMI....)

I'm not sure why but I'm feeling a little intimidated to coach a doctor? I've coached nurses, teachers and even other coaches but how can I tell a doctor that the pain in his leg is normal?

(Random thought) Hey, is there a top and a bottom to a banana? I saw a co-worker opening(is that the correct term) a banana from what I called the bottom, he looked at me like I was crazy!

I also have my first active smoker getting ready to train for an event! This should be really interesting as the team warm-ups stretching and this person is puffing on a cigarette! HA

(Random thought #2) Jess over at Run Jess Run had an interesting situation with an older(not me) runner commenting on her speed. I think he meant well but it got her to thinking. It got me to thinking about comments that we leave on blogs, most are encouraging and uplifting but have you been the victim of blog venom? Has someone left a comment that hurt?

Can you use nicotine patches as a base layer????

We're having a TNT Bowling event tonight, so I get a chance to socialize with a bunch of alumni.

Party on Garth!!!!!!

That hasn't happened to me yet, but I've got so few people who read mine LOL!!! Don't worry about the doctor. Just because he has a degree in medicine doesn't mean he's smarter than you :)

there is most definitely a top and bottom to a banana. hold your ground on that argument!

Primates open their bananas the "wrong way"!! Apparently it's more effective, although I don't buy it. Stick to your guns!

Doctors need coaches too! No worries.

Interesting about the smoker! If someone was smoking near me as I was getting ready to run, I'd drop the group. Serious. ESPECIALLY for a freakin' cancer clinic! Blech. Maybe the doctor can convince him to stop. LOL

the way you're eating it is the right way. it's SOOOO much easier to open, and you don't get that mushed-up part on the "top" when you wrangle with the stem for ten minutes trying to open it.

also, i wish my boytoy would join TNT with me. he was thisclose when i told him i'm doing GreenBay in may and get to run around the stadium. of couse, all of his smoking gets in the way. perhaps he'd go with the patch-base-layer idea. maybe he would use them as nip covers.

How do you know he's a doctor? Did he register as Dr. Joe Blow or Joe Blow, MD? If so, he just might be impressed with himself enough to correct your every reference to the human body. Unless he's a psychiatrist, then he'll challenge your comments about running being a mental sport. Just run faster than him if that happens to help deflate the ego. Or maybe he just wants to learn to run smart.

Medical doctor or PhD doctor? Our chapter of the Team was about 50% PhDs at one point. We had a smoker a few years ago. She ended up quitting smoking and finished her race in great form. Definitely a success story. Hoping for the same for y'all.

i don't know if i've gotten hate comments - sometimes you get one that seems rude but i try to give them the benefit of the doubt and that maybe they just didn't word it the best way...

i haven't given a hate comment, but i may have not-worded-something-great and come off the wrong way unintendedly. i just made up that word. but hopefully you know what i mean.

Mama always said if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all.

I just don't understand how people open bananas on the side where there's nothing to grip...

Haha, I would feel a little intimidated as well. But you are the coach and doctors aren't experienced runners! In terms of running you will know more. You'll be great!
