Needless to say my morning run wasn't as long as I intended.
My heart rate monitor said my HR was too high, no $hit!
I actually carried a stick for about two miles and kept looking for any movement.
It wasn't fun......
In 2005 they asked me if I would like to coach participants to run endurance events. I was elated and have been doing it since. Now I'm trying to spread the word of running to everyone.

I bought some mace after a dog encounter. Of course, since then I only get attacked by the pocket purse poodles.
Glad you're ok.

So far I have only encountered bad dogs on bike rides where I can usually pedal away quickly.
