1) I SUCK big time! I have not entered or participated in a race this year! It really hit me when I was taking with another runner and we were discussing upcoming races(that I will probably not participate in). The really bad part about it is I don't feel terribly bad about it.......
2) Track time is getting to be fun and the number of runners is growing. We had a really varied group yesterday. Even had a kid that has to run sub 13:00 for two miles for soccer......
3) I've asked in a prior post but I'm old and forgetful. Who takes a multi-vitamin and does it really help? I'm thinking of taking one to supplement my crappy summer diet. Maybe this will give my some pep in the evenings.

I have run approx one race, the Frostbite Marathon Relay, in January and that is it. I signed up for 5 other races and have not/will not be able to run any of them. I'm seriously considering walking a 5k soon just so I can say I did something this summer before it passes me by. Why no races for you? Just focusing on coaching?
I take a multi vitamin, not sure if it makes me feel better or not as I've been taking them for years. I feel like it can't hurt so why not? It's always a good thing to get all your recommended daily vitamins in one shot right?
KEN, what is going on with you? This is not acceptable!! Get yourself in a race - catch the fever again!
races are something necessary only if you WANT to do them. One can run without racing.
I take gobs of supplements (a handful) but not a single multi-vitamin. The problem with generic multivitamins is that they don't have enough of what I need to add, and have stuff I don't need.
I'm laying low on the race scene too. Maybe it really is an age thing. And I sometimes take a multivitamin and, so long as it's strong on B12, I do feel a change for the better. Just don't take them on an empty stomach.
Races are fun, but races are expensive and a lot of fuss. I have to drive at least an hour to just about any race so I don't race much right not either.
I take a multivitamin by New Chapter. They're organic (which I normally don't nuts over, but if I'm going to the trouble to put extra vitamins in my system it seems worth it) and you don't have to take them with food and they don't make you nauseous. (I couldn't ever keep up with my old vitamins because I never remembered to take them right when I was eating.) The ones I'm taking are 3 tablets a day though, so you might not want that much trouble. I do subscribe and save on amazon to get them.
My doc says if I only take one supplement, make it Vitamin D. And if I want another, Krill Oil. I buy both at Costco - Kirkland Brand D3 and Schiff Mega Red. The D gives me more energy, and I've been sick less since taking it for the last 2 years. http://www.vitamindcouncil.org/index.aspx?o=3948&newsitem=83
The Krill Oil seems to make my joints feel better, and lowered my hubby's cholesterol by 40 pts, and his LDL by 33% (in 6 weeks). No, it wasn't his diet or exercise. We use more than the label - 2/day. Good luck!
I take Flintstones multivitamins. They're yabba-dabbo-doooo-good. They don't sign me up for races though. Red wine and the internet are my tag-team for race registrations. Try it.
i have an emergen-C packet in my smoothie every morning. when i go smoothie-less i mix one up with some OJ. mmm mmmm good!
