Why did I position myself at the base of the hills at the Flying Pig?
My calves are still screaming at me!!!
After watching how a lot of people look and feel finishing their endurance event, I can honestly ask why do they do it?
Granted the weather played a role in it but it wasn't and could not have been fun..........
Why are old men only wise in Barbershops and Locker rooms????????
People are just crazy............. HA

Not fun? then why do it...
I too found myself in deep pain after volunteering for eight hours at a marathon aid station. People have no idea how much endurance is needed to hold out your hands and stay on your feet all day, and in direct sun. You are a great coach, Ken.
I ask myself why each time....and I keep coming back. It's the same as any sport. You are never 100% and why you keep coming back. I can hit two great shots out of 60 in nine holes of golf and keep coming back(well, sort of) so a few tough miles is nothing.
Also, I agree with Anne - that's hard work what you do. I only have to run for 4 hours; you're you there twice as long - you should be asking yourself why.
Have you ever run into a barber in a locker room. It's like speaking to Yoda.
we are all nuts as far as i'm concerned. lol!
