It's a strange judicial world that we live in. Here's my example:
Michael Vick gets 23 months for dog fighting, which a lot of people think was too harsh and others thought he should have served more time.
Donte Stallworth pleads guilty to DUI manslaughter for killing a human being and serves a 30-day jail sentences.
Plaxico Burress accidentally shoots himself in the leg and is sentenced to two years in prison.
What kind of penalty would you receive if you were driving over the legal limit and accidentally crashed into a dog-fighting ring and killed a dog and one of the spectators?
See, that's why I confused..................

Yeah, it makes no sense.
Now also, if you while you crashed your car your gun went off and you shot yourself in the foot - now that would really confuse things!
I suppose it depends upon what state you're in. FLA or Texas (I think) you'd be fried baby.....
It is a crazy, crazy world we live in...nothing makes sense in North America any more.
I agree with Lily, Texas would just send them to the chair. :)
I don't think true "justice" is ever served -- it just all depends on the judge's agenda or who can voice the loudest opinion on the jury. *sigh* But it would make an excellent episode of "Boston Legal"!
Depends did the police find a gun in the car when you drove into the dog fighting ring?
Here is a pretty good article about it all:

Oh dear lord that is hilarious. Judicial system makes no sense. But it could boil down to the $$$ you spend on your attorney...
