1) No January recap for this dude, I'm running without any real discomfort which is enough of a recap for me. Bring on February....
2) I won a one month membership to a local Crossfit box, so I expect to be in some real pain going into the next month. I love Crossfit and try to do a lot of my workouts along the same principle. One thin I would like to improve on are my Olympic lifts and mobility.
3) I hate wind!
We had an issue with the household washer and I began investigating on the interweb about it. There is a ton of information out there regarding probably everything. I was about to find reviews, comments and YouTube videos about the problem I was having.
So my question is why do people put videos of fixing their washer or other appliance?
Why are there so many videos on running drills, from elite athletes to Joe Blow?
Why is it fifty degrees in January in the Mitten state and I'm inside at my desk?
Do you run longer when you have unseasonably warm weather?

Why does the water at the gym taste so damn good but everywhere else it taste like water?
I'm sure all of you are aware of the importance of looking at your urine. Well, I have been walking around total dehydrated according to my urine color!
I was amazed the other morning when I saw dark yellow urine, WTF????
I rationalized that other than my normal cup of coffee at home, I don't take in any other fluids until I get to the gym. There isn't a lot of fluid in bagels or jelly beans.....
So it's time to 'Grease the Groove' with the water fountain.
Every time I pass the water fountain, I have to take a few sips.
I have several water bottles at the house and even one on my desk at work, but the stuff still taste like water.
Maybe I can get some of that good tasting water from the gym?
Peace.............

They have been kicking my ASS at work, so blogging has suffered!
1) We've encountered what I think is normal winter weather, although the media treats it like we're in Florida??? Here are a couple of ex-coworkers that were caught by the newspaper in the single digit temps.
Note that these guys aren't youngsters, so this is dangerous to me.
2) I may have turned a corner in this knee rehabilitation thang! I'm not feeling as many twinges and I'm taking the stairs in leau of the elevator at work. Yay me..............
3) I can honestly see how and why our country is suffering from the obesity dilemma. I have been chained to my desk at work and only able to get in minimum exercise due to the weather or time constraints. I can see how a pound here and a pound there creeps on and the next thing you know, BAM! So stay active my friends.......
Peace

1) I am actually taking the steps at work without grimacing. I'm still waiting on the day that I can bounce up and down them like a kid. I can almost always tell the age of a person based on how fast they go down stairs. Young people love going down steps fast, as opposed to us more mature people.
2) Since I'm starting to see some progress in my rehab, how long before I over do it? I am so ready to get out and run faster than I've been running, but I know that that means landing a lot harder. Am I the only one preoccupied with time?
3) Am I the only one that thinks the Biggest Loser is rigged?

Why can't I stop eating like it's still the holidays???
Why do keep talking about Lance Armstrong's confession?
Why is Lance Armstrong confessing now, does he really want to compete at the age of 50?
Ran a mile with little or no twinges in my knee! I was sooooooooooooo tempted to go further but thought better of it.
Why is it when we feel good, we do something to change it?

I've actually had two good days in the gym. I mean the kind where I'm gasping for air and sweating all over the floor. Knock on wood, my knee even cooperated!
This got me to thinking about goals that I want to accomplish in the gym, other than not hurting myself.
In running we have quantitative goals that we set, such as running a certain distance within a specific time.
We have PRs that have been set and need to be broken.
In the gym it's a little different. Of course I want to be able to bench press my weight for five reps! But is that a true goal for my gym workouts?
In Crossfit certain WODs are timed, giving individuals their chance to PR a certain workout, so they have quantitative results.
So I guess what I leading up to is, do we have the same desire in our gym workouts as we do with our running?
Do you put in the same effort in the gym as on the road?
Just asking.........
