Why am I nervous about meeting the student that I'll be mentoring this semester?
I'm talking about a middle school student...
Why am I worried that I won't have all of the answers to his math?
I loved math when I was in school. I occasionally use it when I running (now what mile follows number three?).
I hope this kid doesn't come with a lot of questions, I don't want to be too stupid on our initial meeting...
How do you teachers do this?

That's something I have always wondered.
Just think of it as coaching, and you'll do great!
How about you have a cocktail and then offer him one? You'll be relaxed in no time. What? That's not allowed for a middle schooler? HAHAA
Pretend like you know what you're doing. Eventually, you will know what you're doing.
Oh man, those were my worst fears when standing in front of a class when I was teaching 1st year chemistry in university.
I would get myself sick about what could they ask and what if I don'T know etc..... that's mainly why I am not a teacher now!
I swear I now understand why my parents stopped asking to help with my homework
