This coming from a guy that hates getting up and doing anything early in the morning.
Now this sudden change may come to a dramatic halt when the temps are below freezing and the sun is nowhere to be found!
I think the fact that I hidden to the world as I glide through the streets of downtown Detroit is helping. That’s right, I’m gliding....
Today's why isn't earth shattering or controversial, but it happens in this area. Why are race directors still handing out T-shirts, why can't we receive something else like a cowbell?

Good question. Maybe because sponsors' names don't fit well on cowbells?
I know, I appreciate races that give you something innovative instead of one more shirt that just goes into a drawer.
We had a RD here in KC for the Hospital Hill Half Marathon that gave out race shorts for years. It was such a nice change from the regular tshirt.
We don't have that RD anymore, the new one that took over went back to shirts-but we also received flip flops.
I'd rather have my shorts.
hmmmm, but really, how many cow bell's does one need???
LOL
shirt is cool! I heard of a race that gives out panties... now would you be interested in that?! LOL
BTW in Miami they main sponsors 'saturn' gave tons of cowbells last year but it wasn't to replace the shirt.
Eh I'm going to be at the start of the marathon on Sunday. We should plan to meet each other!!

Aha! So THAT'S why you haven't been coming to the DTRWs! Running club really sucks when you're not there. Angela and I concur that it's just not the same. :(
Forget the shirts just gimme a cocktail :P
I am over race shirts as well. There are so many other creative ideas.. Race directors are you reading this! Even if they were shorts or gloves, or a hat... something different. Puhleeezz no more shirts!
I don't mind getting a shirt...especially if it is a nice tech shirt like the ones at Disney.
At least the last few races I have gotten tech shirts rather than the cotton ones. I got a visor at one triathlon and that was cool.
