I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday and purchased some furniture. That seems to be the only reason for the holiday, to have a Sale at the local furniture store....
Being from the 'old school' (pre-WWW) I remember scrambling around trying different types of training plans on the fly! I couldn't turn on my PC and have a plan saved at my finder tips. I had pencil and paper with some numbers and a reasonable date to do my long runs
The only real plans we had were the plans of the elite runners and boy was that hard(and stupid) keeping up with them!
When did the taper period go from two weeks to three weeks?
I remember people racing the day before a marathon!
It's always funny when people ask me about Hal Higdon's training plans and I ask them, who is he????
How many of you used his plans without knowing anything about the man?
What about Yasso 800s? Do you perform them and not know who or what about Bart Yasso?
Just some of hte thoughts that go through the mind of an old runner.........
Peace.

I also hear people used to run marathons without (gasp) eating anything! :^)
whoa that whole paper and pen thing must have sucked. lol!
I like to follow the Davenport Running Plan, personally. I hear the guy behind it was a legend back in the pre-WWW times!
haha. i did actually vaguely follow random higdon plans for my first few marathons.
