Why do older people stop exercising or engage in any kind of regular physical activity?
Is it because we don't have the hip trending workout gear?
Is it because the GPS looks like it's not moving?
Is it because the young ladies at the gym keep complaining to the gym manager about us?
I can't figure it out but there must be a reason......
Most of you out there in Blogland plan on continuing your exercise routines well into your twilight years but what about the majority of Americans that either stop or have never begun?
The National Institute on Aging has instituted a Go4Life campaign aimed at getting older people active.
So if you know of any people of my generation that have become couch potatoes, get them up and moving.
I'm hoping to keep going until the Big Guy in the sky says stop!
Peace.........

I thought you were only 34?!
seriously Ken, you are not old.
and i think the older generation was never told about exercise and staying fit. they were too busy busting their butts.
Well, I won't say I'm old, but those first few years after the Civil War were pretty tough ones. I think you either keep moving, or you rust in place. I know people my age (and older) who never leave the couch. I know others who have done Ironmans. So I am somewhere in between, but I hope a lot closer to the Ironmen and women than to the couch potatoes.
I don't know, but I think BoB is right. It's just not part of the image older people (which doesn't include you) were taught about what it was to be that age. It makes me sad.
