Since we are in the month of November my question is Thanksgiving themed.
Why are races on Thanksgiving so popular??
Locally we have over 4,000 people turn out for race and the early entry fee is $30!
I was looking around at other races and most of them sellout and the entry fees are expensive.....
I know that it's tradition for a lot of people but what else drives these numbers????????

Maybe families get out and run together? A way of celebrating and making your body feel good?
Who am I kidding--it helps justify the pie! Oh, and don't forget the wine!
DUH, it's an excuse to eat more food with less guilt!! Too bad we had T-giving in October...
I'm with Marlene on this, you can certainly eat more....
i think it's what Marlene said...
yeah duh, what marlene said.
i did a marathon on thanksgiving once. best thanksgiving ever. no guilt over eating 20 desserts, no weight gain.
It's so you can eat more later in the day or at least indulge with less guilt!
The race I did last Thanksgiving they gave out pies as age group awards.
Yup, running for 30 minutes justifies the second helping, the 2 slices of pie, and the alcohol for the vast majority of the crowd.
