They R Runners

Well, I guess it had o happen but my TNT participants are becoming runners. Now when I sat that, I'm referring to the 'anal' runner that can't start until they get a signal on their Garmin or run around the parking lot and additional few laps to get in the exact number of miles!

I added a few more inclines into their run yesterday and it didn't deter them at all. These guys are relentless!

I reminded them of their first group training run adn how far they've come.

We only have a few more weeks before Nashville and Vancouver and the Flying Pig in Cincinnati. Now is when the nerves start to show. I'm constantly telling them to trust in their training and everything will be okay.

This is the time of the season that becomes more challenging.

T.G.I.Foto Friday

I happened across this photo and The guy in the red shirt is a young David Hasselhoff. I bet he had his talking car about now!

This was taken in Traverse City at the Bayshore Marathon.

Wednesday's Why

Why are people so surprised when you tell them that you exercise 6 or 7 days a week?

Especially since most of them are office workers.......

29 Hour Days

It seems that I can only get in a cameo appearance these past few weeks to Blogland. During the week, I'm busting butt at work and once I get home I'm exhausted.

I actually fell asleep on the couch yesterday after work, in my running cloths! BEFORE I went for my run.......... Is that crazy or what?

I think the six hours of sleep just isn't enough for all of the running and exercising that I'm trying to do.

So I am officially adding on five additional hours to the day! This will not have an effect on the television show 24.......

I can do whatever I please with these five hours and half of them will be daylight hours with the other half being night time.

So go out and enjoy your 29 hour days and thank me later.

WTF (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)

How can I go a week without posting or viewing and fall behind with 116 post?

Keeping up with everyone is becoming a second job, but worth it......

I volunteered for our local St. Pat's run and called out the 3 miles splits. 3400 runners/walkers later, we encountered a real problem.

They ran out of BEvERages before we made it back to the finish after the race, can you believe that?

Good thing I came prepared with my own.....

They are still kicking my A$$ at work, with no end in sight.

We finally got a break in the weather, so maybe Spring is around the corner.

Happy Birthday Momma

This is my mother's birthday and if she was still alive, we would be partaying. She celebrated her birfday for an entire week. I miss you Mom!!!!!!!!!

Getting my Arse Kicked!

This is what's happening at work, they are kicking my arse!!!

Guess what I was able to run in on Tuesday evening? RAIN!!!!!

Some of you may remember my co-worker Len, well he's back to work and actually running. The doctors have told him to stop running marathons but he is back to running.

Okay, time to get some more work done!

Okay, I can justify having those three pairs of running shoes now!

We broke a record on Saturday with the amount of rain we received, and it's still raining today. Should I begin to build an ark?

Is this still the cold and flu season?

I just want to be dry and warm.........

We were hoping for a warmer morning for our TNT group training and we got it! It's amazing how good 36 degrees feels as opposed to 16!

Today's lesson was running those hills and drinking on the run! I love hills and I'm trying to convey that same attitude to my team. I want each and every one of them attacking every hill they encounter at their event.

Since we've been running in sub-freezing conditions, a few of the participants were way over-dressed and started shedding clothing in the first few miles.

They soon learned another valuable lesson about running, 'don't get rid of your stuff too soon'!

That's right the skies opened up and the rain started falling. Now I don't mind running in the rain if it's warm outside, but that cold rain just gets to the bones!

Fortunately if did finally stop, but most of the runners had finished also. I sometimes feel like the mother hen of the group reminding them to pack dry clothing for the ride home but there are a couple that never heed my words. Boy, did they pay for it today!

We began taking a collection of dry socks, T-shirts and anything else that could keep a person warm!

I contributed a towel and a pair of socks.

Okay, time to shower and get my Saturday going.

Have a great weekend............

Thursday Thoughts

We had a great lunchtime run today. There were actually 10 guys from work that started out together. That's a lot of testosterone.....

Notice I said started out, there are a couple of really fast guys and they pulled away after the first mile. But as all of you know, you run so much better in a group environment and to top it off it was lunchtime!

When you have a group like that you can play some games, like someone putting in a surge and seeing who goes with them. Okay, I was throwing in surges, just to show those youngsters that I'm not through just yet.

The real reason for the large group was temps in the mid-forties!!!! Yay for warmer weather.

We're suppose to experience more warm weather, so the shorts will be out for a few more days.

Do people actually remove bumper stickers if their candidate lost?

Wednesday's Why????? and Mo'

Why is it that no on sees or comes around your work area when you get in early, but everyone and their brothers is around when you get in two hours late?

I'm not sure what is happening with the EXTREME class but it seems to be getting easier. Now don't get me wrong, I'm still sweating like a pig and my heart rate is racing when the class is going on. But I'm not having the two day after affects of muscle soreness and hatred of the instructor!

We're suppose to get springlike temps in the upcoming days which will be a welcomed relief.

Add to that the beginning of Daylight-Savings time and I'm a happy camper.

Enjoy Hump day!
