Well the Stanley Cup has left the city of Detroit for a year-long trip around the Steel City.
But that's not why I sad. This was the last group training run for my 2009 season. All of my participants are now finished.
No more waking at 6:14 AM on Saturday morning regardless of the weather to make it to a group run.
No more making the PowerAde and picking up bagels.
No more searching for running routes to challenge each participant.
No more emails to answer questions and dispense words of wisdom.
Hey at least the Tigers won! Okay, time to go and enjoy the weekend.

Oh sweet pea, it is only temporary, soon enough you'll be out beating the bagel trail.....enjoy your time off before the Alaska journey.
;( Pens.....gah!
I'm sure you'll miss it, but it also nice to have a break from it for awhile, right?
You'll be back out there, Coach Ken. I can relate though. I always go through TNT withdrawl after a week or two off. I went out with the Fall team a bit yesterday and did a mission moment for them, and it felt good to get up at 5:30 on a Saturday again! :)
For some, that would be cause for celebration, not mourning.
Fear not, I am sure that there is a group training for Nike that would love you out there to man a water stop.
Hey, there is a lot to be said for sleeping in for at least one week.
Hey, glad to see another Team in Training person blogging not alone a coach. In a about 2 weeks I will be running my first 1/2 marathon with Team in Training. My mentors and coachs have been so incredibly supportive and helpful. I'm so excited, just worried how tough this is going to be for me since I've struggled with training the last weeks because of myself and my kids being sick. Well I'm not going to let it stop me from finishing this time. Don't be sad, there will soon be a new group who you will soon be coaching and encouraging them. Keep on coaching! Happy running.
Enjoy the short break - I'm sure you'll be back in full-time coach mode in no time!
boohoooo... ;-)
The pens deserved it and they had tons of French Quebec players =)
