Alaska 20 Miler

Today was the 20 mile training run for my one TNT participant and Bob came through with flying colors. He was trying to run negative splits but the last portion was really getting to him.

I always try to have those words of encouragement but after 18 miles of running, most participants don't want to hear a perky pep talk. They just want to see the finish!

Two more weeks and we'll be basking in the sunshine of Anchorage.......

It's also the beginning weeks of the Fall TNT team and it is so nice to see the expressions on their faces when they complete the longest run of their lives.....

Can you believe it's June? Will someone slow down the time machine and let me catch my breath. Time to bump up the weekly mileage and get in some serious training. Please let this old body hold up.....

Have a great weekend out there in Blogland.

To run a negative split is very difficult. And yeah, at 18 miles hearing the pep is probably annoying, but I'm sure they still appreciate it.

someday we will all run negative splits... someday. Bob will have an awesome time in Alaska. I ran that race last year. Incredible time.

At mile 18, dirty jokes often get the mojo running again. ha! Great job on the training run. I agree....this year is flying by!

Usually anybody who talks to me at 18 mils is going to get a punch in the gut... except I probably wouldn't have the energy to do so and a pitiful wave or smile would suffice.

Really? You're going to Alaska? Wow,

Mile 18, isn't that where you start asking for oxygen?? LOL

I lived in Alaska for several years. Watch out for the bugs...and moose.
